FCS
»

FCS stands for First Customer Ship . When a product is released it is called the FCS release. Normally it is assigned a version number at this time, customers normally do not see the version number as FCS. Once it is released normally, a product is released as version 1.0 or something to that matter.

FCS however is used when talking about a product when it is still in a state before it is released or it has been released, it is no longer beta but has not been assigned a version number for some reason.

Dynamic Software uses FCS as the version number of a product for the first few months of release so the General Public are aware that the product was just released.

Once a product has been assigned a number, it is considered very stable. This is a difference between Dynamic Software® and other companies.
