Frequently Asked Questions - Engine Data

Q: What is Engine Data?
A:

Engine Data is an actual file that our programs use to interface with Internet search engines. This file tells our programs what seach engines are available, where the submission URLs are, the current optimization stradigy for the engine, etc.

The engine data is essential for the program to work properly.

Engine data is not part of the actual program, when you purchase one of our programs you recieve a subscription to the engine data file. The purchase price includes 12 months of Engine Data, when the subscription expires, you will not be able to download addional engine data until you renew your subscription.

Only our products that interface with seach engines require engine data.

You could download the new fresh Engine Data file by clicking the 'File/Update Engine Data' menu item at any time. Normally, you only need to do this once per month.

You can also update the new Engine Data file automatically by check the "Update Engine Data file automatically every 30 days" box under the "File->Configuration->Options" window.

Q:How often do I need to update the engine data files
A: We update our Engine Data file at least once per month normally once every two weeks, we will constantly add some new engines when they become available or remove any bad engines if they are no longer there. If you have found any new engines that are not included in our Engine Data file, please feel free to let us know. Or report us any bad engines if found.
